Whites
From crisp, dry and fruity to more full bodied styles to drink with food, our range of whites will have something to suit all tastes.
All our white wines are made from single varieties. Chenin Blanc is probably the grape most commonly associated with South Africa. Known as "the varitey with variety" it produces wines ranging from light, refreshing and easy-drinking styles , to more complex examples, often using oak, and even luscious dessert wines. Sauvignon Blanc is becoming more widely planted, giving wines from it's Southern Hemisphere cousins something to think about. Chardonnay from the Cape gives us wines somewhere between Barossa and Burgundy. Sometimes oaked and powerful, often elegant and refined, but always reliable. And there's Viognier, confusing the senses with it's off-dry style yet a sweet, almost honey like fragrance. Although all our whites are made from single varieties at present, it doesn't mean we won't be adding some blends in the future. There are some very interesting things happening just now in South Africa on the white blend front. Nederburg have recently released a wine with no less than eight grape varieties in the blend - but then that's just being silly..... isn't it?
